Philippines

The Philippines is a Southeast Asian country of tremendous contrasts; on the one hand, an exotic paradise with some of the world's most beautiful beaches and most colorful wildlife - on the other, extreme poverty with slums, child prostitution and violations of human rights. Not everything on the subject of the Philippines is entertaining or pretty - but that doesn't make it any less important to know.
